Looking for Land to Grow a Family Farming Business, Lincolnshire

Looking for Land to Grow a Family Farming Business, Lincolnshire

Simon and his family are looking for an opportunity in Lincolnshire to continue growing their livestock business while enjoying a life on the land.

The family currently live and work on a smallholding near Horncastle, where they successfully manage five acres with sheep, goats, poultry, pigs and emus. Now in the second year of their business, they are steadily increasing their stock numbers with plans to begin direct sales next year. However, as the current landowner intends to diversify the site, they are now seeking a new opportunity where they can continue to develop their enterprise.

Ideally, they are looking for a similar-sized holding with enough space to support the gradual expansion of their livestock. Simon’s wife would also like the opportunity to establish a market garden, ideally on a separate area of the site with sufficient fencing between the garden and hungry sheep! While the family are happy to begin with minimal infrastructure, they would gradually install fencing and animal housing, which could all be temporary structures, as they establish on the plot.

Simon and his wife are committed to expanding at a sustainable pace that provides a good quality of life for both themselves and their children, who are equally passionate about their smallholding and are equally committed to working with the animals. The family have strong social connections in the Louth area and would ideally like to remain within an hour’s drive.

The family currently live on their smallholding and would ideally be looking for a site where they could continue to live, whether off-grid or with another suitable accommodation option available. However, for the right opportunity, they are open to exploring practical and feasible solutions that would enable them to relocate.
