Organic Farm Opportunity Near Bentley, Suffolk
Organic Farm Opportunity Near Bentley, Suffolk
Sandra owns an organic farm near Bentley, Suffolk, where she is offering an opportunity for a landseeker to work on the land. She is open to business ideas from experienced and motivated farmers and growers who can bring new ideas and energy.
The farm is situated within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Special Landscape area, with around 70 acres of farmland. This includes both pasture and a successful, mature apple and pear orchard, which has potential for a landseeker to take on and improve productivity. There is also around an acre of rabbit-fenced land, along with a polytunnel with water and electricity. A community shop and pub in the village could offer potential for direct sales.
There is flexibility as to what activities take place on the farm, although respect for nature is essential. The use of regenerative farming practices, particularly integrating grazing livestock into orchard management, would be of interest.
Sandra also runs a successful livery business on the site and has plenty of manure available for horticultural use.
She has previously worked with two horticultural tenants, so has experience in this area. However, she feels there is strong potential for more involvement with the orchard, as well as room for other systems such as livestock to be integrated on the land.
The site includes various options for housing accommodation. There are additional buildings, a new livestock shed, and several redundant but sound cold stores that could form part of an agreement, along with access to some machinery (old but functional). Sandra is keen to establish a long-term lease for the right tenant.

How It Works

Our FAQs page is a great place to find answers to many of the questions you might have along the way.Once you’ve registered, your regional coordinator will get in touch to arrange a call. This is a chance to talk through your ideas in more detail, gather the information we need, and answer any questions you have about the landmatching process.
Step 2
Support Package
Whether you’re a landseeker or a landowner, we’ll provide the tools, resources, and peer support in order to prepare you for a match and plan your next steps. Our resource library includes expert guides written by land agents and consultants, along with links to useful information and supportive organisations.Using the information we’ve gathered, we’ll work with you to create a tailored listing for our noticeboard. Landmatch England will then promote your listing through our networks and social media channels, giving you the best chance of finding the right match.

When they identify a potential match, they’ll help you exchange more details to see if there’s genuine potential.Next comes the introduction — this might start with a call and, if it feels right, move on to a site visit. Your regional coordinator will guide and support you through these first meetings, making sure both sides get the most out of the experience.
