Opportunity on a Family Farm in Organic Conversion near Stamford, Lincolnshire

A family farm near Stamford, Lincolnshire, is offering an opportunity for a landseeker interested in establishing or developing a market-garden or similar enterprise. In recent years, the farm has been taken on by a new generation of the family and has started an organic conversion. The family is passionate about stewarding the land for the benefit of the environment and the local economy, and has previously sold beef through direct sales locally. The farm is well located near Stamford and several surrounding towns, offering good access to local market opportunities.

Two potential sites are available on the land. The primary site has easy access to mains electricity and water and is located close to the farmyard. A second site sits near a small village and is planned to be connected to electricity; there are possibilities to connect the site with mains water, although this is not currently in place. Two rivers do, however, run through the farm, providing good access to water despite the local climate being relatively dry. The family is committed to increasing biodiversity on the farm.

A modern steel-frame shed with mains electricity and water is available for use at the primary site and could support a range of practical needs. The family has access to a wide range of tools and machinery, either owned directly or borrowed from neighbouring farms, and there are strong local farming relationships. There could be opportunities for joint investment in additional infrastructure with the right landseeker.

The family are looking for a landseeker who would be committed to their new enterprise and would be able to make the business work. The landseeker should be friendly and willing to work with the family, who have a shared stake in the land, and could bring along new knowledge and energy. Experience in market gardening or a similar enterprise would be essential, and an interest in soil health and fertility would be beneficial. In addition to the land opportunity, there may be scope for further work across the farm, with the possibility of future livestock enterprises arising, including a new herd of cattle.
