Joint Venture Opportunity for a Market Gardener, North Yorkshire

Joint Venture Opportunity for a Market Gardener, North Yorkshire

A fifth-generation family farm near Stokesley, North Yorkshire, has identified an exciting opportunity to establish a vegetable-growing enterprise on the land. The farm is managed by Matthew, a trained agronomist who already runs a successful farming business across North Yorkshire and is passionate about regenerative farming.

Matthew has recognised a gap in the local market for high-quality, locally grown vegetables. Keen to see more of the food he and his family eat produced close to home, he is looking to collaborate with a skilled and ambitious market gardener through a joint venture. With an already busy farming operation and a young family, Matthew is seeking someone with the right expertise and ambition to lead and develop a new vegetable enterprise on the farm.

The farm is within easy commuting distance of Stokesley and Middlesbrough, with good options for housing nearby, and close connections to urban amenities. Matthew is well-connected within the local farming community and has established relationships with neighbours, networks and sales outlets that would provide valuable support to a new business.

The land offers good-quality soil, and Matthew believes an organically managed market garden would thrive on a plot just off the farmyard, with access to covered infrastructure for storage and other purposes. He would also be open to supporting the installation of polytunnels.

This opportunity would suit a capable and confident grower ready to establish a new enterprise on land that has not previously been used for vegetable production. They should have solid practical growing experience, along with some understanding of the business side of produce enterprises. Matthew is open to discussing how he can support the venture and is looking for a practical, grounded individual with a strong work ethic and a business mindset, ready to establish an exciting new enterprise for this area.
